DTA are delighted to have been providing transport planning advice regarding Branston Locks since 2001. Most recently, DTA have supplied Nurton Developments with the overall transport package for this residential and retail use development.
The team at DTA negotiated with the Highways Agency and Local Authority to develop the transport assessment and wider modelling plan for Branston Locks. Ultimately, DTA have provided a complete package of planned improvements to two junctions on the A38, an agreed contribution to Staffordshire County Council to improve junctions within Burton town centre, together with improved public transport links and a corporate travel plan. Basing the development’s public transport strategy on these improved factors, DTA were able to provide Nurton Developments with an complete transport strategy that has enabled consultation to proceed with no objections. The development has now been granted outline planning content.
Branston Locks will create 2850 new homes on 400 acres of green field land near Burton, providing direct access to the A38 Branston Interchange. It comprises a local centre featuring a food outlet, convenience stores, recreational facilities and community facility, plus a primary school, nursing home and medical facilities.
Since publishing this, we are pleased to announce that Branston Locks has been granted planning permission.
