Yew Tree Village
Yew Tree Village is a planning application for a development of 1000 houses south of Droitwich. DTA have been involved in the Yew Tree Village project since 2010 when the team prepared the preliminary Feasibility Study and access designs, with input to the master plan and its progression. Subsequently, DTA provided a full transport assessment, public transport modelling, travel planning and access strategy which helped the client reach agreement with Worcestershire County Council. This agreement covered off-site impacts that resulted in a reduction of the original requirements; saving the client costs in the region of £400k. The scheme was originally refused permission in 2013 for non Highway reasons but DTA successfully supported the case against local objections at a Public Inquiry. DTA also undertook negotiations with the Highways Agency regarding nearby M5 junctions, resulting in an agreed nil impact. Since then, planning permission was granted in June 2014.
